Medical Image Enhancement Based on Laplace Transform, Sobel Operator and Histogram Equalization

Medical image enhancement is one of the most widely used medical processing techniques in domain. Its purpose to improve visual effect and facilitate analysis understanding by human or machine. The Laplace transform Sobel gradient operator are two common ways performing edge detection, sharpening enabling be enhanced. However, each has limitations when isolation. a good detection effect, but it will make noise expand; certain ability smooth noise, edges obtained after rougher. This paper therefore proposes method based on both operator, histogram equalization transformed processed enhance image. Using combination filtering methods avoids disadvantage. was found effective improving quality lung images skeletal through several experiments.
